The Meditation Experience

(with restorative yoga)

Have you ever wondered what actually happens in the mind and body during meditation? This experiential workshop bridges ancient wisdom with modern neuroscience to explore how meditation reshapes the brain, calms the nervous system, and enhances emotional well-being.

Through a blend of education and practice, participants will learn about:

  • The science of neuroplasticity and how mindfulness strengthens key areas of the brain

  • The role of the parasympathetic nervous system in stress reduction and healing

  • Evidence-based research on meditation’s impact on anxiety, depression, and trauma

  • Foundational meditation techniques, including breath awareness, body scanning, and guided visualization

  • Restorative yoga to support meditative practice

Whether you are new to meditation or wish to deepen your practice, this workshop offers both knowledge and experience to help you cultivate focus, compassion, and presence—on and off the mat. The workshop will be formatted to include 30 mins of education on meditation and 1 hour of meditation combined with restorative yoga. All yoga props are provided included a yoga mat, bolster, blankets, etc.
